Eucharist

St Paul's Parish will celebrate First Communion with our children on Sunday May 14, 2017. Please join us at 10.00 for this special day in the life of our community.

 

The Eucharist is the heart and the summit of the Church’s life. In it, Christ associates his Church and all her members with His sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving, offered to His Father on the cross, once and for all. By this sacrifice, he pours out the graces of salvation on his Church, which is His Body.

 

Communion with the Body and Blood of Christ increases union with Him, forgives venial sins and preserves one from grave sin. The Eucharist represents thanksgiving and praise to the Father. (In the Diocese of Calgary children are prepared for First Communion / Eucharist in Grade 2.)
